generating balance in mind body and spirit

Testimonials

Japanese Acupuncture uses especially thin needles.  Treatments of this style are very gentle and typically use fewer needles than the traditional Chinese style while achieving excellent results.

These treatments are based on pulse and Hara* diagnosis. This process includes abdominal palpation that allows the practitioner to understand the location and pattern of imbalance based on physical findings.

*Hara:  a Japanese medical term defined as the abdomen, which reflects the overall state of the health of the body, organs, and the functional relationship of these elements.

'I see Jessica regularly to help me with some specific ongoing issues and several chronic conditions that I have as well as to help with my general overall wellness. She has a gentle demeanor and responds to my concerns at each session. Her Japanese style of practice relies less on my words and more on what my body is telling her [which is quite fascinating!] I have had chronic sinus problems for years and between her treatment and following her dietary recommendations I am amazed that I have felt more relief than 10 years of traditional Doctor recommendations failed to provide me. I also have a chronic back injury and since her regular treatments my discomfort has been reduced for prolonged periods of time and has significantly reduced my need to take supplementary pain medications [like Ibuprofin.] I have also had excruciating and debilitating Gout pain periodically over the years that would usually take weeks to resolve [and that was the best that Western medicine could do.] Jessica has treated me for Gout and given me significant relief in a matter of hours. Amazing! Occasionally I ‘over-do-it’ in the garden or with a project and have severe muscle pain be that either with my back, legs, or shoulders and Jessica can alleviate the majority of that type of pain in one treatment [saving me from taking Ibuprofen for days.] She also helps me with ongoing emotional stress relief and I have noticed an overall sense of prolonged calm and wellness after each of my visits. I highly recommend Jessica!' -OV

'This winter I was in a traumatic bike accident that left me with a broken vertebra, rib, and strained rotator cuff. I had to take over a month off of work due to severe back and shoulder strain/pain. My body doesn't agree with narcotic pain medication and I needed an alternative. I'm a super active person (I bike every day, ski, go to the gym) and so my injuries took a heavy emotional toll on me, which Jessica always factored into the treatments. Jessica treated me twice a week throughout my recovery and was extremely thorough in her approach to treating my injuries and pain. Jessica has a warm and compassionate personality, she is focused, skillful, and really listens to me. The treatments changed as my pain changed and I always improved after each one, and she even taught me about some really great products and remedies that I'm still using. I was skiing and riding a bicycle four weeks into recovery, still with some minor pain, and was fully recovered and pain-free at seven weeks. If it weren't for Jessica I don't believe I could have recovered as quickly I will definitely be seeing her again in the future.' -JC

'Jess is an amazing acupuncturist. Her attention to detail, dedication to healing, and compassion for her patients are incredible. I’ve had multiple digestive health issues and Jess has provided healing treatment and guidance around how to improve my mental and physical health. She always looks at the whole picture and builds upon each treatment. I not only feel better but my overall wellness has greatly improved.'  -KW

'Seed Acupuncture is a quiet little sanctuary in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of downtown Boston. Jessica is a highly skilled and intuitive acupuncturist with a specialty in the Japanese style (which is my favorite). My experience was wonderful. She listened, she heard me, and she gave me the best treatment. I left my appointment feeling as if I had dropped 10lbs off of my shoulders, light and positive. I will definitely be going back.'  -MG

'I have had many acupuncture treatments and most of them were very good. However, being treated by Jessica added an entirely new level of well-being. Typically I do not fall asleep during acupuncture treatments, except when I am treated by Jessica. Also, the aftereffects last for a very long time. Jessica is absolutely terrific!'  -SK

'Seed Acupuncture is the best. The acupuncturist, Jessica Sorkin, is kind, gentle, and very warm, and knowledgeable. Her Japanese-style acupuncture has helped my back and digestive problems already.'  -KK
